Sales Geek in Scotland was born out of a simple belief: Sales deserves better.

In 2021, we brought the Sales Geek brand north of the border for the very first time – driven by a clear mission to change the way the world perceives sales, and to make elite-level sales support accessible to every business in Scotland, regardless of size or sector.

It all started with one Geek

Peter Barclay – a career sales leader with decades of experience across family businesses, SMEs, PLCs and blue-chip companies – had spent years seeing the same challenges repeat across industries. Business owners were overwhelmed by sales, hiring full-time salespeople they couldn’t properly support, investing in training that didn’t stick, and being sold to by consultants with no skin in the game.

So he did things differently.

He became a fractional sales director, embedding himself within businesses, leading from the inside, and delivering results through clarity, process and people. And just like that, Sales Geek in Scotland was born.

But this was never a one-man mission.

Very quickly, Peter’s approach began to resonate. Clients were growing, referrals were coming in, and it became clear that the opportunity to support Scottish businesses was far bigger than one person could handle alone.

Davie didn’t just join the team – he became a true partner in driving the business forward. With over 25 years of experience in sales, management and leadership, Davie had walked the walk – from engineering and industrial sales through to owning and running his own SME. He brought a deep understanding of what it means to lead a business from the front, to face tough commercial decisions, and to build trust with teams and clients alike.

What made Davie the perfect fit wasn’t just his CV – it was his values. Like Peter, he believes in doing business the right way: with honesty, accountability, and a commitment to long-term success. As a partner, Davie has helped shape the culture, ethos, and delivery of Sales Geek in Scotland. His presence has elevated the business, brought in new sectors, and created even more space for meaningful client relationships to flourish.

With the foundations solid, the team continued to grow – with Ross Penman joining soon after, bringing his award-winning entrepreneurial background, sharp commercial acumen and a modern, digital-first approach to sales. Ross has since helped push Sales Geek in Scotland into new territory, offering a fresh perspective and powerful capability around data, systems and structure.
